Lim Kang Hui Joins Asia Green Energy Innovation Challenge 2026 Fireside Chat

CRecTech co-founder and CEO Dr. Lim Kang Hui participated as a panelist in the fireside chat "China-Singapore Green Energy: Challenges and Breakthroughs" at the 2026 Asia Green Energy Innovation Challenge in Beijing.

The programme, held from 22 to 26 June at Tsinghua University and co-organised by NUS Enterprise, BLOCK71 Global, and Tsinghua X-lab, brought startups from Singapore, Indonesia, and Vietnam into China's green energy and startup ecosystem through pitch clinics, company visits, masterclasses, and a demo day.

Moderated by Steve Leong, the fireside chat brought together Fu Zhi, co-founder and CEO of Gongji Technology; Lim Kang Hui, co-founder and CEO of CRecTech; Yong (Walter) Ge, founding partner of Green Leaf Ventures; and Joyce Hu, of counsel at Gunderson Dettmer.

Steve framed the discussion around a central question for the China-Singapore innovation corridor: how do startups navigate a breakthrough out of the lab and into the world? Kang Hui's key takeaway was that a solution ultimately has to help the customer make money or save money.

For CRecTech, the discussion reinforces the company's commercialisation philosophy for renewable bio-methanol: breakthrough catalyst science must translate into practical deployment, paid pilots, and measurable value for industrial customers.

The engagement also highlighted the importance of cross-border green energy collaboration, as startups across Southeast Asia and China work to move climate technologies from laboratory innovation to scalable market adoption.
